Upkeep Anderson

Got a community-led upkeep group off Facebook and onto a domain they own.

// THE BRIEF

Getting off the platform.

Upkeep Anderson is a community-led upkeep group — small jobs and lingering home tasks for residents who need a hand. They had been running entirely on Facebook: a page for inquiries, Messenger for booking, no website, no email at their own domain.

They wanted a presence the public could find on Google. They wanted to own their booking inquiries. And they wanted it cheap enough to fit a small-team budget.

// WHAT GOT BUILT

The handover, line by line.

  • A site at upkeepanderson.com. 4 pages: home, services, about, contact. Built on Astro 5, hosted on a DigitalOcean droplet behind a Cloudflare Origin Certificate.
  • A real inquiry form. Visitors can describe a job, get a price range, and book without sending a Messenger DM.
  • Local SEO. Schema markup for a local service, Google Business profile linked, Anderson-area pages indexed.
  • Email at their own domain. [email protected] — feels professional, builds equity in their own name.
// OUTCOME

Live since May 8, 2026.

Upkeep Anderson now has a domain they own, a site that loads in under a second, an inquiry inbox that doesn't depend on Facebook's algorithm, and Google indexing for the work they do in their actual zip codes.

They own the front door now. Whatever happens to Facebook tomorrow, that doesn't.

// FROM THE CLIENT

“We were one rule change away from losing our whole reach. Now we own the front door — and the list, and the look.”
